I’ve learned a lot in the last 5 years, but the biggest thing I had to learn was something I grew up knowing and implementing.
My attitude is my choice, and I’m the only one in control of my mental space.
For a while, I was stuck feeling like a victim – I felt like everything was happening to me and that I had no way to change my life.
Over the last 5 years, my life has changed dramatically, and I think it’s because I stopped painting myself as the victim in the story I was writing.
I definitely had days, weeks, and months where I fell back into the victim mindset, but lately, I’ve been reminded that the choice is mine.
So I started thinking about all of the different things people choose every day that can change their lives:
- surrounding yourself with the right people & leaving toxic people behind
- waking up an hour earlier or staying up an hour later to exercise
- spending 15 extra minutes cooking something that’s going to fuel you instead of just feed youdefining clear boundaries so making a choice is easier
A choice I made this fall to invest in myself with 2 coaching programs and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, but I had just quit my job, and the fear of failure nearly stopped me. Luckily I’ve been actively surrounding myself with people who support and believe in me, so this scary choice to put myself out there and believe in me stopped feeling so scary.
If you are contemplating making a choice that could change your life, and you’re still worried about speaking it into the world, comment below or DM me for a little support.
You are not alone; the choice is yours.
